Without autopilot, flying around would be a bigger drag than it already is. When flying on auto, its a good idea to keep an eye on what is happening anyway, and activating your ABs on gate approach when flying anthing but a shuttle. What i meant ...

Another option is to have a repair module to fit on your indy. You would have to fit it with 'nuts & bolts' much like ammo for guns. Then lock damaged ship, approach, & repair. This way: - an extra something to produce: 'nuts & bolts' - less lag...
